"A Time for Love" (ATFL) is certainly
a celebration of love and a continued exploration of the jazz
trio format with more originals (4 originals plus 1 set of
lyrics on "How my Heart Sings") than the previous
recording "From the Heart" (FTH). It includes one
song with Portuguese reflecting the deeper exploration into
Brazilian Jazz (particularly the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim).
I would also describe ATFL as a little more fiery than FTH,
as it reflects the growth in playing and singing that developed
since FTH, which was recorded almost 10 years prior to ATFL.
The song "From the Heart" was also re-recorded for
this project, since the previous recording was released only
on cassette, but has been released on CD.
